Betty Smith, an art teacher who taught for many years in Knob Noster will be moving to Phoenix soon. Betty's husband, Ted, recently passed away. Carol Culbertson, a former math teacher and colleague of Betty's would like to put together a scrapbook of stories or messages from former students and teachers. If you have something you would like to contribute to the scrapbook please contact Carol at carolculbertson@embarqmail.com.
Athletic Recognition Boards Fundraiser
In our last newsletter we told you about an alumni fundraising project to replace the track record board in the KNHS gym lobby with two large screen monitors and two touch screens. We thought this was a great idea and agreed to help the committee by contacting alumni. Although the committee is closing in on its goal for phase 1 there is much more to be done.
Is this something alumni want to support financially? Please keep reading to find out more.
One of the most looked at features of the KNHS gym lobby is the track record board. Countless alums, basketball and wrestling fans, school visitors, and students waiting in the lunch line have looked at this board over the decades it has been in place. However, because the board is a fixed-letter board with limited space, the record of past accomplishments is lost as new records take their place. And, because of room constraints no other sports are included on the board.
A committee of alumni and community members has a plan to make major improvements to that board and to add recognition for all of Knob Noster High School’s sports teams. Visit this page to see the committee's vision and to find out how you can help raise money for this project.
